The Office of Disability Services assists students with disabilities in obtaining reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aids, and support services. The office supports students with cognitive (e.g., learning, psychological, and closed head injury), sensory, mobility, and other physical impairments in order to provide students with equal access to university programs and services.
Student members of the George Mason University community pledge not to cheat, plagiarize, steal, and/or lie in matters related to academic work. The Office of Academic Integrity is responsible for resolving accusations of Honor Code violations. The office also provides educational resources for students, faculty and staff for promoting academic success through a commitment to integrity.
We offer free writing support to Mason students, faculty, and staff. Accomplished graduate and undergraduate students provide our face-to-face tutoring, online tutoring, and workshops. We work with writers through all stages of the writing process from brainstorming and organizing to revising and polishing.
Free tutoring is available on a walk-in basis for all George Mason students enrolled in GMU Math courses. During every shift there will be assigned junior tutors and senior tutors. Junior tutors can help with courses up to Math 213. Senior tutors are able to tutor all Math courses up to Math 290 and sometimes higher level undergraduate courses
Learning Services, housed within the office of Counseling and Psychological Services, works with students and faculty to improve students’ academic and study skills. Learning Services offers the Academic Counseling Program, which teaches strategies that enable students to enhance their academic performance, and provides an opportunity for students to get support to help them stay on task; skills workshops; classroom assessments and other support for students with learning challenges.
The Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Office believes that every student has the potential to be a leader. The LEAD Office helps students develop into effective, ethical leaders through a series of workshops, conferences, classes, speakers, dialogues, and retreats. Our programs are tailored to students at different levels of leadership development and provide opportunities to develop a strong sense of self, augment critical thinking and interpersonal skills, develop global and cultural competencies, and cultivate organizational skills for transition into the professional world.
